about me

I am indeed a CPA. I currently work “in industry” as we CPA’s call it, which means that I do not work for a CPA firm, but rather a corporation. Most people tend to think that CPAs are dull, boring, and generally not very creative. That’s true, but I like to think that I am an exception to the rule.

I am lucky that my job allows me to use the creative side of my brain somewhat. First, I manage a diverse staff which requires constant creativity on my part. Also, much of my work is in report generation and process improvement. I like my job. It’s not numbers, numbers, and numbers all day long.

As much as I like my job, it is a means to an end. That end is my crafting studio where I spend a lot of my spare time. That end is also having the funds available to purchase craft supplies. Let’s face it…these hobbies are expensive.

Creatively I wish I could focus on one thing and do it really, really well. That’s just not me. I start one activity and focus on it for about a month and then I move on to something else before I have cycled through all of my hobbies and start at the top again. Currently I scrapbook, sew, decorate cakes and decorate my home. I would like to learn to knit or crochet.

My "almost mid-year" resolution is to embrace my creative side more. Enter this blog, which I hope will help me focus more on creativity and find a community of like minded people who I would otherwise not interact with on a daily basis.

Yay! I would say welcome to the world of crafty blogs but it's not like I'm any established member of such community or anything. But anyway, I'm glad to see you here and can't wait to see more of your stuff.
Love the handbags--I'm not a sewer (word?) yet, but one of these days.

PS I love the name too. I love it when those of us who are supposed to be certain "types" because of our professions defy those stereotypes.
